The Nahum Principle

This principle is clearly taught in the prophetic message that God gave to Nahum to deliver to Nianevah, the capitol of the Assyrian empire. Nahum pronounced that the nation’s wounds had become  “incurable”  ( Nahum 3:19 ). Jeremiah used this same terminology when he later pronounced God’s doom upon Judah.   Your injury has no healing, your wound is severe. All who hear news of you Will clap their hands over you, for upon whom has not your wickedness passed continually.   It is an ominous message of truth that Americans, even Christians, will rebel against. The Christian community will reject it because it has compromised its values with the world, it has wrapped itself in the flag of patriotism, and tolerance, and it has deceived itself with its pollyanna gospel of health, wealth and prosperity. For the past 40 years God has been raising up prophetic voices in America, calling this country to repentance. We have reacted in the sa

A Storm in a Teacup.

Just thought I would share this.  I know it’s lengthy, but it’s important. For the past few weeks, Alistair Begg, pastor of Parkside Church in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and host of the Truth for Life radio program, has been caught in what he calls “a storm in a teacup” over advice he gave about attending an LGBTQ wedding. His sermon, this past weekend was a response to a controversy over comments he made during a promotional interview for a book last fall, which recently went viral on social media. During the interview, Begg recounted talking to a woman whose grandson was getting married to someone who was transgender. She was a Christian and loved her grandson and she was seeking advice on what to do. Begg, who opposes same-sex weddings, suggested she go to the wedding and bring a gift. By doing so, she would show her love for her grandson, even though she did not approve of the wedding. he said, “Your love for them may catch them off guard, but your absence will simply reinforce the fact

A little Bit of Truth on a Rainy Day

I know that some people won’t like this and that’s fine, but, I’m all about the truth and I’m going to keep speaking it until the Lord call me home no matter whether anyone likes it or not.  That’s who I am and I stand firmly on the truth and my convictions. Everyone who knows me knows that I am not a KJV only person, never have been, never will be.  Now, I’m not attacking the KJV, I love the KJV.  I grew up with it and I still use it.  Im also not attacking people who prefer to use the KJV over any other translations, that’s fine.  What I’m attacking is the KJV only belief.  It’s false.  It’s not based on truth nor is it based in reality.  The KJV is not the best translation and it’s not the most accurate translation. Not by a long shot.  Let me explain a few things… 1.  People are all about the 1611.  If you’re using a KJV Bible, you are not using a 1611 edition, it no longer exists.  Most of us couldn’t read it if we did have it.  You are using the 1769 edition, and it is not even

The Way is Narrow and Difficult

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide   is   the gate and broad   is   the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.   Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.   Mathew 7:13-14 As a younger Christian and a young preacher, I use to think that the church needed to  keep up with the culture and make itself more relevant for the times.  I had all these big ideas and dreams that we should come up with new ways of presenting the Gospel and more inventive ways to attract teens and young adults to the church. I said that preachers needed to lighten up on the preaching and preach more encouraging messages And back off on all the hellfire and brimstone stuff.  Society is changing, people are changing, and the church needs to keep up.   That was my thinking when I first started preaching 20 years ago.  Well, guess what…the church has latched onto that kind of thinking.  We have changed to keep up with the c
