Cry Out to the Lord




I cry out to the LORD with my voice; with my voice to the LORD I make my supplication. I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare before Him my trouble. Psalm 142:1-2

Someone once said you can’t purify water by painting the pump. And yet that’s what we try to do. We think that somehow if we can change the exterior, if we can make conditions such that we never have any hurts or pains, then we’ll be just right. But Jesus focused on what you are, not on what you have.

He didn’t say blessed are those who have popularity, those who have position, those who have personality, those who have possessions, or those who have power. I can show you people who have all of these things and are perfectly, exquisitely, miserable. Jesus didn’t say blessed are those who have certain things, but blessed are those who are certain things, including those who mourn.

Many church services are filled with cheerleader enthusiasm. I’m not speaking against joy. The Bible says there’s a time to laugh and a time to weep.  There is a time to be on our faces before God. When we recognize our brokenness, when we see the brokenness in the world, we can and should fall before Him and mourn. Mourners have the sensitivity to feel; their hearts are touched. They rightly see the brokenness in the world and in themselves.

Only a relationship with Jesus Christ can supply all of your needs. Have you trusted Him?  Have you given Him everything?  If not, you can do so right now and find full happiness and satisfaction.  Turn to Him in faith and true repentance.  Confess and ask forgiveness of your sins and ask Him to make you one of His own.

Is Your Pastor a Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing?

In this age of cultural Christianity, and what I mean by that is Christianity that is changed to fit the current popular ideas.  Christianity that is custom tailored to suit the community’s various wants, tastes, and needs. Did you know that when one of the trendy new “modern churches” are planning to plant a campus (that’s the new trendy name for these modern, progressive churches now, “campuses” ) they send interviewers into the community to talk with people to find out what they want in a church.  What sort of programs they like and what kind of sermons they want to hear, and then they tailor the entire worship service around what the community wants.  This is not church folks, this is a social club.   The problem with this new fangled Christianity is that people may know very well what they want, but what they need is an entirely different story.  Many people today want to be entertained in a worship service.  They want loud music, they want drama skits...

Only 1 in 10 hold a Biblical worldview. Only 25% of American Christians feel they have a personal responsibility to share the Gospel with others, and only 40% believe that the Holy Bible is truly the “Word of God”.
